Explain how the system works?
The Linear Heat Detection (LHD) cable senses abnormal heat in the battery pack and triggers the fire detection system when temperatures exceed a set threshold.
The control panel displays a fire indicator for the battery compartment, and the buzzer alarm sounds to alert the operator.
The alarm will continue to sound until the operator presses the “accept” button on control panel to silence it.
The suppression system automatically activates when the LHD cable detects a temperature rise, releasing SNF LITH+ or AERO+, a lithium-ion battery fire suppressant.
If the system fails to activate automatically, the operator can manually release SNF LITH+ or AERO+ by pressing the control panel button or pulling the pin on the cylinder to open the solenoid valve.
In case of a false alarm or error, the operator can silence the alarm by pressing the "accept" button, correct the issue, and press the "reset" button to restore system functionality.

Feature

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of the FDAS & FDSS system for EVs?
FDAS (Fire Detection & Alarm System) and FDSS (Fire Detection & Suppression System) are designed to detect and suppress lithium-ion battery fires in electric buses. These systems ensure quick response, deep penetration, and prevent thermal runaway or re-ignition.
What fire suppression agent is used in the FDAS and FDSS systems for EVs?
What makes SNF LITH+ suitable for EV applications?
- Penetrates deep into enclosed battery packs
- Prevents re-ignition and thermal runaway
- Safe for high-voltage and sensitive electronics
- Leaves minimal, non-corrosive residue
- Performs well in high-temperature and vibration environments
Is the FDAS & FDSS system for EVs certified for automotive use?
Yes. Key components such as the control panel, strobe siren, and LHD cable are EMI/EMC certified and UL approved, ensuring reliable operation under extreme automotive conditions.
How quickly does the system suppress a fire?
The linear heat cable activates at 187 °C, and the suppression system is triggered within 10 seconds, ensuring rapid and efficient containment.
